Description

The trail connects Ravello to the Upper Trail of Valle delle Ferriere, passing through one of the most famous religious sites in the area, called “Santa Maria dei Monti”. It begins at the hamlet Lacco of Ravello (m 418), along the staircase on the right of the street “Via S. Trifone”, a few meters before the Church of San Trifone and San Martino. Passed this staircase, continue northwest to Vallone Reginola, which separates Ravello from Scala. Crossed the valley, climb along the opposite side until to reach “Santa Caterina” of Scala (m 450), where the church of the same name rises. After a short stretch on the asphalt road, take the left footpath that crosses the wood of “Annunziata” and leads to “Santa Maria dei Monti” (m 1039) where there is a statue of Our Lady that is the object of a great veneration. From this point, proceed north-west until you arrive at the “Rifugio di Santa Maria dei Monti”. Passed this, take the path north-west direction, until to reach the plain “Piano del Ceraso” (m 1036) where the trail ends at the intersection with the 301 CAI.
